ABOVE & BEYOND
When a team of dedicated individuals makes
a commitment to act as one…the sky’s the limit.
My dedication to find schools that are Above & Beyond the typical experience has led me on a global pilgrimage - I’ve volunteered in China as an English teacher, evaluated international teachers in Thailand, and attended numerous Global Education Network sessions offered by Charter for Compassion International. I truly admire the individuals of Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP) to act as one in “building kinder brains,” yet I want the students in the American school system to learn that “the sky’s the limit”.
While serving as a substitute for Murchison Middle School in Austin, Texas, I was delighted to witness dedicated individuals supplying programs that showed a commitment to act as one. They have a three year Social and Emotional Learning program and students participate in Community Service Day. An impressive International Baccalaureate curriculum explores 8 subject groups and I’m particularly interested in helping them move Above & Beyond in the category of Individuals and Societies. An extensive offering of clubs helps the students know the sky’s the limit as all leaders are actively engaged in strengthening the diversities found within the school.
The Murchison Matadors are Above & Beyond most middle schools that I’ve examined throughout the world. I’d like to assist these dedicated individuals in helping their students reach for the universe through a new club called the 3 Gs Club.

Welcome to the 3 Gs Club where we flourish by offering:
Gifted and Talented activities to all

Game Changers that address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

The mascots of 3Gs Club are Rocket and Cory.
Cory comes from Cory & The Seventh Story where we explore old and new villages of power between individuals and societies. Rocket is part of Marvel’s team of “deeply flawed, emotionally injured beings who yearn for catharsis, while also helping each other achieve redemption.” Together, they are the beginning of the new narratives of power that we’ll create through Guardians of the Galaxy 2.2. For lesson plans that incorporate the 3 Gs team concept into the American History curriculum,, contact Vicki Cutherell at [email protected].
